MACC NEWS:

Grant County Journal - January 2006

MOSES LAKE -  A one-tenth of 1-percent sales and use tax increase that Grant County voters approved in the November general election to fund a countywide emergency radio system will take effect April 1.

The Washington State Department of Revenue will release a revised tax table to business owners probably in February.

The county's Multi Agency Communications Center and board of directors are beginning the planning stage of implementing the new emergency radio system project.

The project will replace and upgrade the current radio system, providing improved radio coverage to the emergency responders in Grant County.  The project will be completed in phases and is expected to be completed in approximately three years.

Multi Agency Communications Center (MACC E911) is the 911 call-taking and dispatch center for Grant County.  The agency was established in January 1995, and answers all 911 calls for Grant County and dispatches the appropriate law, fire or medical response to the emergency.
